What to look for
- 100% cotton, in writing. “Cotton rich”, “cotton feel” or “glace cotton” usually means a blend.
- A sensible thread count. A well-woven 300 to 400 thread count sheet is soft and lasts. A much higher number isn't automatically better.
- The weave. Percale is crisp, matte and cool. Sateen is smooth with a soft sheen and feels a little warmer. Which one suits Indian summers?
- What's in the set. Flat or fitted, and how many pillow covers.
